At last night’s delicious unveiling of the fabulous new BA Kitchen, nestled a floor below Bon Appétit‘s 4 Times Square HQ, Chic grabbed a quick gab sesh with Penn Badgley. The actor ambled in avec Zoe Kravitz to chat with ?uestlove, before Badgley and Kravitz meandered out in a modified congo line formation. (Chic kids you not, kiddies!)
Why are you here, in the middle of midtown, at 10 p.m.? Actually, that’s an excellent question. I had no idea what this was, but Ahmir [?uestlove] texted me. When he gave me the address, I was like, “what the…?!” But I showed up and ate some chicken. It’s a good time.
Do you cook much? I don’t; I can cook, but I haven’t really since I got to New York.
Where do you often order in from while you’re neglecting your kitchen? It’s simple, but Mole, right on Houston and Allen Streets.
What’s your style trademark? T-shirts! But really, I just try not to wear the same thing twice in a row. That’s all! Well, I have worn the same clothes more than once, but in private. That’s a different story.
What’s your fashion sensibility been like lately? Over the last 10 months of my life, my style has been shifting in a way. Not that I’ve ever had any particular style, because I tend to wear the same shit.
Does your personal style jive with Dan, your Gossip Girl character? Nah. It’s nice stuff, but as a function of it being on television, it’s too many button-downs for me. Too many layers, and it’s not like Dan is ever that dressed up. Some of the clothes are really quite nice, too. For the most part, I don’t want to be defined by Dan’s style. I do spend a lot of time wearing that stuff all day, every day, for the show.
Whose closet would you love to raid? Courtney Love’s!
How about a kitchen worth crashing? This one. It’s truly awesome.
Source, thanks to @ChandlerDillon!
