If Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley has his way, they’ll actually be LESS of the pair. “The most fun I’ve had in years were the Dan and Blair scenes because the dialogue is given an opportunity to go where it doesn’t go with Dan otherwise,” he tells me. “I really enjoy that. I would like to see that explored.” Of course, his opinion might mean nothing to the writers. But should it?

Yes, believe it folks, one of the two Jeff Buckley movies in development is moving forward whether you like it or not, and production continues with its indie spirit as Deadline reveals that rising Brit actress Imogen Poots has joined the cast. While her name may sound funny and or not be familiar at all to you, that is likely soon to change. The actress impressed in last year’s “Solitary Man” and this year, she was made her presence known in two period pieces, the criminally underseen Jordan Scott film “Cracks” and Cary Fukunaga‘s gothic “Jane Eyre.” But her biggest exposure is yet to come as next month, she’ll try not to get fanged by Colin Farrell in the “Fright Night” remake.

”Greetings From Tim Buckley” stars Penn Badgley and it will tell the true story of the days leading up to Jeff Buckley’s eminent 1991 performance at his father’s tribute concert in St. Ann’s Church. There, he meets in a young woman (Poots) and they take a four day journey and he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. The film will caps off with the performance of his father’s most famous songs, a stunning performance which launched his music career.

Written by Dan Algrant, Emma Sheanshang and David Brendel—with Algrant to direct—lensing begins next month. Both Tim and Jeff Buckley are sacred to their devotees and a road trip/emotional journey vibe seems kind of easy if not totally cliched so we’re on the fence. But it should be an interesting test for both actors with this film largely serving as their first leading vehicles. So fingers crossed, and we’ll look for this next year.

Penn Badgley and Zoe Kravitz seemed to be more than friends at the “Friends With Benefits” party Monday night. They arrived separately at the Standard Hotel for the Cinema Society bash, but “Gossip Girl” star Badgley later wandered over to Lenny Kravitz’s daughter. The two seemed casual at the Axe-sponsored bash attended by the stars of the film — about friends who decide to have sex without emotional ties — Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis and Emma Stone, as well as Kirsten Dunst, Liv Tyler and Anna Faris. But we spotted Penn and Zoe hop into a taxi together at about 1:30 a.m. His rep said, “They just shared a cab.”

Though best known as Gossip Girl’s Brooklyn boy, Penn Badgley spent Saturday evening proving that he’s truly a Lower East Side guy while catching up with friends in the VIP section of Carrera Sunglasses Escape at the Mondrian SoHo. No longer dating starlet Blake Lively, Penn told friends that he is finally moving into the Lower East Side bachelor pad of his dreams where he plans to spend day and night chilling to music uninterrupted on his favorite SOUL by Ludacris headphones. Truly a jack of all trades, the actor boasted that he can play any instrument but the drums, plans to produce a record after he returns from a trip to Mexico and even picked up some Venroy Australia board shorts to complement his avid surfing skills. Penn chatted with co-star Kaylee DeFer as he sipped on his favorite cocktail of UV Vodka on the rocks with a squeeze of lime and took a quick break to hydrate with MiO Berry Pomegranate.
