That Dan Humphrey sure gets around. He’s managed to fling with BFF Vanessa and step-sister Serena, and these days he’s getting busy with the Queen B herself, Blair. When MTV News caught up with the “Gossip Girl” star at Cosmopolitan magazine’s 2011 Fun Fearless Males party, Penn Badgley shared what it’s like to work so intimately with Miss Leighton Meester.

“It was actually the most fun I had had on the show in a while,” Penn dished about his latest on-screen romance. “It was something new for my character, and I was having fun with the rapport, and I think my dialogue benefited from it. It was actually a lot of fun to work with Leighton. I hadn’t much. We were like the only two who had never really interacted.”

Well it seems they’ve quickly gone from 0 to 60 in the interacting department, and Penn admitted he’s not complaining. “It was great We all get along pretty impeccably, even after four years,” he shared. “I mean there are ups and downs, as there are in anything. It’s great. I’ve actually really enjoyed working with her.”

With Dan and Blair busy being Dair, what does that mean for his past ladies, like Serena and Vanessa? Well, he says, you’ll never believe what happens next. “I don’t know how much I can give away,” he teased. “It doesn’t end the way you think it does. I can’t say much.”

Being that the night’s honorees were being lauded for being both playful and bold, MTV News decided to have them weigh in on the not-so-age-old question: Are you more fun or more fearless?

“I think I’m a healthy balance of both,” “Gossip Girl” star Penn Badgley explained. “Yoga [makes me balanced]. I don’t do yoga,” he jokingly continued before adding, “Fearless can be a bit serious, so you have to balance it with some fun.”

Who’s more crushworthy than Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl? He’s smart, honest…and gorgeous, of course. In real life, 24-year-old Penn Badgley is pretty much the same. And it can’t be easy for him to stay that humble when he’s been scoring tons of big-screen gigs: He starred in The Stepfather in 2009, and this past September, he played Emma Stone’s dream boy in Easy A. We’ll see him next in a thriller about the financial crisis called Margin Call (alongside fellow FFM Simon Baker). When he isn’t on set, he’s pursuing his other dream: becoming a musician. Mmm, a man who can play guitar.

Cosmo: Describe the most fearless thing you’ve done.
Penn Badgley: Going after my role in Margin Call. I’ve done extreme sports and that kind of thing, but with this, I am talking about the kind of fear that matters. To me, real fear involves your resolve and your will. I pursued this role heavily, and when I got it, I was like, Oh, shit. I’m at least 10 years younger than everyone else in the cast, and I knew I would really have to perform.

When you’re not acting, what are you doing?
I play guitar, piano, and bass. I also sing. In the next year, I’m going to focus on that and hopefully do something real with it.

What’s a dating deal breaker for you?
I couldn’t date someone who didn’t like dogs. There are exceptions to the rule, but I find that if someone doesn’t like animals, I am a little suspicious of them.

What’s really important to you in a relationship?
If you’re with someone, you need to be benefiting from it. If you’re not really talking and connecting, then fucking don’t be in one. Just break up.
